Your decision to have an abortion is a personal one. This may be a difficult decision for you or it may not. You may still be in the process of making this decision.

Here are some online resources to help you work through your decision:

The Pregnancy Options Workbook is an excellent source of help with the decision.

Support persons can find specific information on how to support a woman during a pregnancy decision/before an abortion here.

Motherisk.org provides information about the safety or risk of drugs, chemicals and disease during pregnancy.

Medical vs. Surgical Abortion is a document that explains the differences between a medical and a surgical abortion.

MomDadIMpregnant.com offers help for teens and parents dealing with a pregnancy crisis.

Backline is an organization that runs a talk line offering a safe and confidential space for women and their loved ones to talk openly about pregnancy, abortion, adoption and parenting. Call toll free 1-888-493-0092.
Hours are Monday - Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Friday - Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

A word of caution: there are many anti-abortion websites that have frightening and inaccurate information about abortion. The resources and links page on this website has a list of pro-choice organizations that are good sources of information.

You can also call Everywoman's to book an appointment to discuss your decision with a counsellor. Counselling sessions, which are free of charge, can be in person or over the telephone. If you book an appointment for an abortion with us and then change your mind, please call us to cancel your appointment. We have a waiting list of women needing sooner appointments and we appreciate your consideration of their needs.
