•If you do see a doctor about this pregnancy, please call before your procedure with the doctor/clinic name & telephone number or bring this information on the day of your appointment.
•If you have a fever, please call to reschedule your appointment.
• 24 hours before your appointment, do not take Aspirin or any other drug containing ASA. Tylenol and Advil are OK.
• Do not use any alcohol for 24 hours before. Even a little in something like cough syrup can react with our medication and make you ill. You will not be able to drink alcohol for two days after your appointment.
• Take a bath or shower before coming to your appointment.
• Wear or bring a short-sleeved top like a t-shirt and warm socks or slippers.
• Wear underpants that can hold a sanitary pad and bring 2 pads with you. You should have a supply of pads at home for later.
• Do not wear perfume or cologne and ask your companion not to wear them either.
• Do not wear nail polish.
• Please eat before you come, if you can.
• Bring your Care Card. You and anyone with you must show photo ID to get in the clinic.
• Be on time. Late arrival even by 10 minutes will mean rescheduling.
• Amphetamines and most other street drugs must not be taken for 3 days prior to your appointment. Cocaine must not be taken for 24 hours prior to your appointment. With marijuana, no use 12 hours before. If you are a regular heroin or methadone user and cannot go without. please limit your intake to a minimum maintenance dose only.
•For safety reasons, you are not allowed to drive for 24 hours after your procedure. You can drive here, but someone else will have to drive you home or we will not be able to do the procedure.• If you think you have miscarried, see your doctor or call us to ensure it is complete before cancelling your surgery here.
• Call 1 week before to confirm your appointment.You can leave a message on our answering machine: call 604-322-6692 and press 8. Say your full name and the date and time of your appointment. Please speak slowly and clearly. If you are only calling to confirm, we will not return your call.
•If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call us right away. This is very important! You can leave a message on our voicemail by pressing ‘8’ at any time.
